Gateway, c.1825, comprising pair of cut-granite panelled piers with moulded necking supporting cut-granite capping, cut-granite panelled outer piers with moulded necking supporting cut-granite capping, and iron work now missing. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Barraghcore House.

A gracefully-composed Classically-detailed gateway displaying particularly fine stone masonry in notoriously resilient locally-sourced County Carlow granite. Although the loss of the original iron work has undermined the integrity of the composition the gateway continues to make a pleasing visual statement with the attendant lodge (12402113/KK-21-13) at the entrance to the grounds of Barraghcore House.
