Dunbell Big holds three conjoined enclosures beside a ringfort, their fossil borders visible only when crop growth reveals what ploughing erased. Two curves and one sharp angle suggest humans shaped the land for living, not merely marking it. The field system waited beneath soil and seed until aerial light restored its outline.

An aerial photograph (GB96.FW.17, 20 July 1996) shows cropmarks of three conjoined enclosures, each defined by a fosse, adjoining the southern edge of a plough-levelled enclosure (KK024-018----). Two of the enclosures are curvilinear; one is rectilinear. These enclosures probably represent a field system associated with the ringfort.
