Whitcastles is a Bronze Age stone circle in Dumfries and Galloway where nine fallen stones still mark a broad oval, with the largest lying to the north and south. It sits among the stumps of a felled Sitka plantation, half-hidden but not lost, as if the trees had merely closed around an older ceremony. People may have gathered there to honour the dead, watch the sky, or argue about ownership of the land beneath their feet. The circle no longer stands proud, yet its direction and shape remain clear enough to suggest that it was made for attention, not forgetfulness.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Whitcastles as Stone Circle (neolithic) - (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
