Lockerbie Tower rose in Dumfries and Galloway during the sixteenth century, a medieval stone anchor in a landscape that has since forgotten its shadow. It stood until 1967, when demolition erased the building and perhaps every memory trapped inside its walls. What remains is a coordinate on a map, a point of absence where human life once climbed, hid, loved or bled. The tower is gone, but the hole it left still pulls at the land.
