Kirkconnel Tower was a 16th-century tower house near Ecclefechan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Tradition links it to Helen of Kirconnel from a Scottish border ballad, while it may also have belonged to the Irving family. The tower has vanished without a visible trace, leaving only memory and story behind.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kirkconnel Tower as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Kirkconnel Tower was built in the late 16th century by the Maxwell family, a powerful Scottish noble clan. It is remembered as a strategic stronghold in the Border Reivers' conflict area, reflecting the turbulent history of southern Scotland.
