Torduff

Tower House (medieval)

What is recorded here

Torduff is a medieval tower house in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It still stands as a ruin, not a display hall, and the distinction matters because the building keeps its own shape instead of performing history for visitors. The chamber may have held a family, a guard or a tenant, but the stones no longer answer that question. They only refuse to disappear.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Torduff as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
