Peshawur

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Peshawur as Steamship (period Unassigned)-(1917). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Peshawur* was a steamship built in 1872, registered in Glasgow and primarily engaged in trade between Britain and India. It was lost in 1917 during World War I, likely due to enemy action or mine strike off the Scottish coast, with no lives reported lost; its cargo of jute and tea was also lost. The wreck is significant as a rare example of a pre-World War I steamship surviving into the war period.
