Whitecastle Knowe holds an Iron Age settlement beneath post-medieval quarry scars, marking a rare collision of ancient life and later extraction. The land may have served people long before stone-hungry hands opened its flesh, yet the quarry pits still bite into the memory of that older occupancy. To walk near it is to measure how quickly human purpose changes, from dwelling to taking, while the knowe keeps both truths buried together.
