What is recorded here

O'er estate is a linear earthwork from the iron age, still marked on the national record though no longer familiar to most locals. The line may have been a boundary, a road edge, or a marker for territory, but the earth has kept its shape while human memory faded. Dumfries and Galloway still holds the remains, and the estate name preserves a trace of the people who shaped that land before written records.
