What is recorded here

Castle O'er Estate preserves an Iron Age linear earthwork in Dumfries and Galloway, where a raised line of soil still marks the boundary of forgotten fields. People may have walked past that ridge for centuries, reading ownership or warning in its shape. The estate name suggests later housing and management, yet the old earthwork remains the clearest voice of the place.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle O'er Estate as Linear Earthwork (iron Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
