Castle Feather is a ruined tower and courtyard inside old coastal earthworks in Dumfries and Galloway, still unassigned to one era. Its name suggests something light and fleeting, yet the stones sit heavy on a sea-exposed promontory where wind would have stripped paint, rope and pride from anyone who climbed there. Perhaps it marked a landing place for small boats, a watcher post for tidal roads, or a private claim of family and fear. The absence of a clear date does not diminish it; it keeps the coast honest, reminding us that some places belonged to several centuries before humans learned to label them.
