Castlewigg, Steading is a 19th-century farmstead in Dumfries and Galloway that still carries a dovecot of unknown age. The dovecot may have served the farm long before the main buildings took their present shape, giving the place a deeper layer of human use. Whether it stored pigeons for food or marked an older boundary is no longer certain. What remains clear is that the site belongs to a working landscape, not a display one.
