Balcarry

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Balcarry as Chapel (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Balcarry is associated with Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer, and is linked to traditions of water-based healing rituals. The site's holy well was believed to cure eye ailments and was visited by pilgrims who performed rituals such as circling the well or drinking from it.
