Castle Robert may be nothing but a rumour in stone, yet it still belongs to medieval possibility in Dumfries and Galloway. That uncertainty is not a defect; it is the shape of the place. A castle can refuse to exist and still cast a shadow. Robert may have built no wall at all, only the idea that walls should rise where men stop doubting.
