Daltonhook

Tower House (medieval)(possible)

What is recorded here

Daltonhook may have stood as a medieval tower house in Dumfries and Galloway, though no certain date or owner is recorded. If stone rooms ever climbed there, they gave one small family a narrow ledge above the changing land. The ledge has disappeared or never attracted notice. What remains is a hook in the landscape, pulling memory back to a shape it cannot prove.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Daltonhook as Tower House (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
