What is recorded here

Cutreoch is a possible medieval castle in Dumfries and Galloway, recorded only as a point on the national map. The name itself is obscure, the kind of place that resists explanation and belongs more to memory than fact. If walls ever stood there, they have returned to the earth, leaving behind a coordinate and a question.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cutreoch as Castle (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
