Castlehill is an eastern Inverness neighbourhood where Neolithic fire scars still lie beneath modern streets, linking today’s residents to people who cooked and lived there before kings had names. Tradition credits Kenneth I with granting the land to the Cuthbert family in the 950s, yet the older earth does not answer to that boundary. Castlehill House stands beside Culloden Road as a late eighteenth-century reminder that ownership changes while the hill keeps its own memory.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehill as Building (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
