What is recorded here

Auchencastle is a vanished private railway halt near Beattock where fast trains still blur past the memory of a small platform. It opened in 1900 for railway families and closed after 1926, erasing the quiet doorway through which ordinary lives entered the main line. The land also holds a polished stone axehead, joining human speed and ancient patience in one forgotten borderland.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Auchencastle as Polished Axehead (stone)(period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
