Castlehill in Dumfries and Galloway carries a prehistoric cairnfield and medieval rig and furrow, marking it as old cultivated ground rather than a new invention. People may have stacked stones, cut soil into ridges, and tended life there long before written records. The visible land still holds that repeated human effort, even when the names and tools changed.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
