Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Park Hill as Cairn (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Prehistoric cairn; likely dates to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. Its precise function is unclear, but such cairns often served as burial monuments or ritual sites in ancient Scottish landscapes.
