Castle O'er Forest is a late 1960s Forestry Commission plantation in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, named for the nearby Iron Age hillfort Castle O'er. It occupies the upper reaches of Eskdale where the White Esk and Black Esk meet, and Eskdalemuir Forest adjoins it to the north. Flint arrowheads, flakes, knives and scrapers have been recorded there, hinting that people may have cut, scraped or hunted among these valleys long before the trees were planted.
