What is recorded here

Doon Castle is an Iron Age broch near Ardwell in Wigtownshire, built as a hollow-walled tower with internal chambers and galleries. It may have served as a high-status residence or fortified settlement for local communities during the first centuries BC and AD. The circular stone structure still stands on ancient wacke bedrock, preserving the shape of a world that vanished before written history began.
Doon Castle, Broch is shown as a archaeological place on the public map of Dumfries and Galloway. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
