Drumscamph holds a platform rath, a raised earthwork built for visibility and defense rather than casual living. Its shape suggests people valued watchfulness, perhaps watching roads, water or neighbours across County Down. The platform may have carried a home, a hall or a warning fire, but the earth keeps that purpose ambiguous. What remains clear is intention: height, boundary and presence.
