What is recorded here

No visible trace remains at Drumgloon, though old maps and local memory agree the stone ringfort stood there. People called it a fairy fort, which in country speech often means a ruined human fort so strange or abandoned it belongs to legend now. The stones may have gone into walls, roads or fields after the fort stopped being lived in. What is certain is that the place was marked, remembered and named before it disappeared from ordinary sight.
