What is recorded here

Two raths stand in Drumaness, County Down, their earthworks marking a settled place from the early Christian period. They are not a vague claim but a recorded archaeological site, large enough to hold lives, work and memory. Whatever hands built them shaped the landscape twice, turning open ground into a place people could return to and call their own.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO RATHS. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
