What is recorded here

Drumadoney holds a rath, an earthen ring built by human hands during the early Christian period. It stands in County Down as a marker of local life, perhaps surrounding a home, a workshop or a small gathering place now lost beneath grass and memory. The preserved shape still points to the people who shaped it, even when their names have faded from ordinary speech.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
