Abandoned 2-storey rectangular school. Indicated on 1842 OS 6-inch map as rectangular structure (long axis E-W) with projections to N and S; named 'Dromagh Nat. School' . Front (S) of 3 bays; central porch with plaque in pediment of porch, reading 'National School 1843'; double plate-glass sash windows with hood mouldings throughout. Eastern gable end two bays deep. Rear elevation mainly ivy-covered; door slightly off-centre to left; remains of projecting wall to right of door; and remains of stone steps to first floor to left of door. Replaced by school c. 500m to E; one-storey, 8 bay, gable-ended; dated 1901. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
