Detached eight-bay single-storey former national school, built in 1854, with returns to rear and pedimented entrance porch. No longer in use. Hipped slate roof. Cut limestone walls with tooled limestone quoins and limestone eaves course. Plaque in tympanum of pediment reads: 'Loughglyn Schools 1854'. Square-headed window openings with paired uncarved limestone blocks underneath stone sills. Tooled limestone window and door surrounds. School located at the entrance to the avenue leading to the former Loughglynn House.
