What is recorded here
A windmill is marked on the Down Survey parish map of Rosslare in NLI (ms, 725; microfilm, P 7384; N 6380) at Ballybroe, and the terrier or commentary lists a windmill at Ballybroe and Drumagh as well as a windmill at Whitehouse (WX043-010----). James Keating owned 22 acres in the combined townland of Ballybroe and Drumagh in 1640 according to the Book of Survey and Distribution (1660s) (Simington 1953, 307).
A functioning windmill is marked on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map at Drimagh, which is a northern extension of Ballybro townland. The location is a level, relatively high area with the ground sloping down to the S, but there is no evidence of a windmill at the centre of a roundabout on a housing estate.
