Why this matters

Neolithic passage tomb; dates to the late 4th to early 3rd millennium BCE. Part of the Brú na Bóinne complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and significant for its association with early ceremonial and funerary practices in Ireland.

What is recorded here

Long mound, c. 70m long by 35m wide, with quarried depression on N side; probably natural moraine ridge (O'Kelly 1978, 58). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987).
