Enterprize is a broken slaver wreck lying five metres deep off County Down, its winch and mast knees still visible through sand. The ship went down in unknown circumstances, leaving no date or victim named. What remains is a gully full of timber and iron, half buried, doing nothing but holding still.

Enterprize was a 17th-century English slave ship, lost in 1645 near the coast of Ireland during a storm. It sank with no lives lost, though its cargo of enslaved Africans and trade goods was lost; its significance lies in being one of the earliest recorded English slaving ventures in the North Atlantic.
