C. S. Lewis, the author of fantasy and Christian thought, drew his first breath on this Dundela Avenue site in 1898. The blue plaque marks the exact ground where the boy who would populate worlds with dragons and speak plainly about suffering first entered human life. Lewis lived until 1963, carrying that Strandtown beginning into every story and argument he later told.
