Forthill Rath

Forthill Rath is an ancient ringfort on a hill crest in Saintfield, County Down, where sheep still graze the outside and a small copse of mature trees fills the interior. The Ulster Archaeological Society surveyed it in 2006 because it had never been properly recorded, revealing a stone revetment around the bank and a living landscape shaped by both age and care. It is not a ruined ghost but a working place, holding human time in its curves while nature completes the design.
