Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Doonmore

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Doonmore holds a circular earthen fort that local tradition calls a fairy fort. People may have lived inside its ridge during ordinary centuries, raising children and losing lovers beneath the same open sky. The fairy name suggests the humans vanished or were forgotten, leaving the circle behind for something else to inhabit.
