Doonfeeny Upper holds a stone ringfort that local memory still calls a fairy fort. The name suggests people once believed the circle belonged to unseen neighbours rather than human hands. That belief turns an ordinary boundary wall into a threshold, warning visitors to respect what they cannot see.
