What is recorded here

This is the S of the two features first marked 'Dolmen' on the 1905 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It consists of a 'massive granite slab (2.95m N-S x 3.60m E-W) now split in two, supported at N by large upright slab (L 2.10m x H 1.00 - 1.30m). S end of 'capstone' rests on rocky ground.' (Brindley and Kilfeather 1993, 2, no. 4). The remains cannot on present evidence be accepted as those of a megalithic tomb.
