What is recorded here

Marked as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 130-145m) with a slight bank and trees on the perimeter on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a D-shaped embanked feature (dims c. 90m E-W; c. 85m N-S) truncated by a WNW-ESE field bank at S on the 1930 ed. Situated towards the bottom of a slight S-facing slope. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 76m E-W; 67m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.6-3.8m; int. H 0.25-0.4m; ext. H 1-1.2m) SW-N-SE, with an outer rounded fosse (Wth of base 2m; D 1-1.1m) W-N and at E. It is defined by an E-W scarp (H 0.4m) at S, beyond which is a WNW-ESE field bank There are entrances at NW (Wth 2.5m) and NE (Wth 3m). The interior is overlain by a NNW-SSE field bank and drain.
