This blue commemorative plaque records: Francis Noel Clark Mundy 1739-1815 landowner, literary patron and poet also Emily Georgiana Mundy 1845-1929 lived at Markeaton Hall once on this site. Descendants gave part of this park to the people of Derby. Recorded plaque organisation: Derby Civic Society, Derby City Council.
Noel Clark Mundy was a notable landowner, literary patron, and poet in the 18th century, while Emily Georgiana Mundy, his descendant, resided at Markeaton Hall; their family contributed significantly to the community by donating part of the park to Derby.
