Enclosure in Cummerduff

Enclosure

What is recorded here

Kinahan (1879-88, 157) describes an enclosure on a NE-facing slope at Cummerduff that is probably post-medieval as a D-shaped area (dims. c. 26m N-S; c. 11m E-W) probably defined by stone walls. It was approached from the E by a stone path (L c. 35m; Wth c. 2m). Its precise location is not known, but it was on NE-facing slope in Cummerduff, c. 100m SW of the unlocated kiln (WX002-045----), with enclosure (WX002-047----) to its NE. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
