Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cuilkeel, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular overgrown area measures about twenty-five metres across and contains a scarp rising fifty-five centimetres to one metre twenty above the ground. An outer fosse three to four metres wide and ten centimetres deep surrounds the site, but no entrance remains visible. A north-west to south-east field bank and track overlay the north-east perimeter, while a coniferous forest stands beyond the bank.
On a low N-S ridge. Circular overgrown area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a scarp (H 0.55-1.2m) and an outer fosse (Wth 3-4m; D 0.1m). There is no visible entrance, and a NW-SE field bank with a track on its NE side overlie the site towards the perimeter at NE with a coniferous forest beyond the site on this side of the field bank.
