Enclosure in Crossderry

In rough hill pasture, on a SE-facing slope in the valley of the Cummeraloodery stream. A D-shaped area (4.4m SE-NW), with a straight NW side (L 6m), enclosed by the lower courses of a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.55m; H 0.5m). The wall is roughly constructed and protrudes above the surface of the bog. It is best preserved at NW. There is an entrance (Wth 0.8m) at E. The interior, which is partially obscured by rubble, slopes down to the SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
