What is recorded here

This is one of four platform-like features (SL039-164----; SL039-165----; SL039-166----) cut into the steep W facing lower slope of Kesh Corran hill. This monument consists of two conjoined scooped-out areas that define a wedge-shape measuring c. 12.5m N-S by 5m at the S narrowing to 3.5m at the N. The quarried material was used to create a level platform. The precise nature of these monuments is unknown: it does not seem likely that they functioned as quarries and a full elucidation must await further investigation (pers. comm. M.A. Timoney). Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 19 January 2014 Image SL039-167----_01 shows the scooped-out areas viewed from the S

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
