What is recorded here

Crannog is a drowned chamber in Annadorn where water filled the rooms before anyone lived there. The submergence is the fact, not a gap in the account. A crannog is a made island, a house built on poles or stone in shallow water, and the name still points to that shape even when the sea took it back. To walk its margin is to measure how much of human making can disappear while remaining named.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CRANNOG (submerged). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
