What is recorded here
Crannog in Muine Beag is a crannog in County Donegal, Ireland. Perhaps people built a small round home on a wooden pole above the water and watched rain fill the lough. Maybe children ran across its roof while dogs waited below. Imagine a woman calling them home as mist closed the valley.
Depicted as a small circular 'island' in Dunlewy Lough on the 1906 ed. of the OS 6-inch map.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
