This red commemorative plaque records: Raymond Reed 1933-2011 This plaque is dedicated to the memory of Ray Reed long serving former employee of British Railways - London Midland region at Coventry. A real railwayman known and admired by his many friends, acquaintances and customers at Coventry. A fellow member of the West Midlands Branch of the Railway Correspondence and Travel Society, much respected railway enthusiast and photographer. He was instrumental in having the nameplate from steam locomotive No. 46240 City of Coventry put on display at this station.
