This black commemorative plaque records: Virgin Records. Pete Waterman OBE the first Specials manager ran the Soul Hole record shop on the first floor of this building. John 'Brad' Bradbury of The Specials worked here, as did The Automatics vocalist Tom Strickland Recorded plaque organisation: 2-Tone Trail.
Pete Waterman OBE, John Bradbury, and Tom Strickland were influential figures in British music; Waterman managed the pioneering ska band The Specials and ran a significant record shop, while Bradbury was a member of The Specials and Strickland was the vocalist of The Automatics, all contributing to the 2 Tone ska revival in the late 1970s.
