COURT TOMB: GIANT'S GRAVE in Rossinure Beg

COURT TOMB: GIANT'S GRAVE

What is recorded here

Mammoth white stones still trap shadow inside Rossinure Beg. They built a chamber for the dead before written history, and the ground has kept that purpose unchanged. Giant's Grave is more than a name when the stones themselves refuse to be small.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as COURT TOMB: GIANT'S GRAVE. Recorded period: NEOLITHIC; PREHISTORIC. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Neolithic court tomb, dating to the Early to Middle Neolithic period (c. 3700–3000 BCE). It is significant as part of a distinctive funerary tradition in Atlantic Europe, often associated with communal burial and ritual activity.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
