This blue commemorative plaque records: 19-21 Castle Street. 16th century, much refurbished, refaced in 1970. This side of the building was part of the former mansion of the Vampage family Recorded plaque organisation: Cirencester Civic Society.
The Vampage family were prominent local landowners and merchants during the medieval period; their former mansion at 19-21 Castle Street reflects their historical significance in the area's development and economy.
