150th Anniversary of Railways in Cork

Cork railways reached a century and a half in 1983, turning iron rails into a living archive of arrival, departure and ordinary urgency. The anniversary belonged to everyone who ever watched a train disappear into rain or waited for one to break the silence. Steel and steam had made distance smaller, and memory larger.
