What is recorded here

Calf Island appears as a tiny mark near the horizon in Roaringwater Bay, joining Cléire, Sherkin Island and the smaller islets that Thomas Davis called a hundred in 1844. The Gulf Stream warms the coast, yet wind and salt still strip much of the land, leaving lush patches beside bare rock and bog. People may have seen calf-shaped shadows moving among those islets, giving the group a name that fits its changing appearance.
Calf Island is recorded as a islet in County Cork. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
